iPhone Battery Health Below 80%? What It Means and What To Do

Below 80% your iPhone can throttle performance and shut down unexpectedly. Here is when replacing the battery makes sense.

Battery health (Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging) shows how much charge your battery can hold compared with when it was new.

What 80% really means

At 80%, a battery rated for a full day now lasts roughly four-fifths of a day. More importantly, a worn battery cannot deliver peak current. iOS may then enable performance management, which lowers peak speeds to prevent sudden shutdowns.

Signs you need a new battery

  • The phone shuts down at 15-30% charge
  • It feels slower in camera or games
  • "Service" appears under Battery Health
  • The screen is lifting at the edges. This means the battery is swollen, so stop charging it and get it checked today.

How to stretch the current battery

  • Turn on Optimised Battery Charging (or the 80% limit on iPhone 15 and newer)
  • Avoid charging in hot cars or under pillows
  • Use a certified 20W charger and a good cable

Our Fixnok™ Certified battery

  • A new Fixnok™ Certified cell at the rated capacity for your model
  • Tested for charge cycles and temperature before fitting
  • 6-month warranty, printed on your invoice

On iPhone XS and newer, a replacement battery shows an "unknown part" note in Settings. It does not affect charging or performance.

Doorstep replacement

A battery swap takes about 30 minutes at your home or office. Your data stays on the phone, and the old battery is recycled safely.
